today, i dreamt that my hamster died. lol. so when i woke up in the morning, i quickly went to check if he had enough food. i was scared when i couldnt find my hamster in it's cage at all.. this is the first time he has escaped.
also, when i was washing my hands near his cage, i heard some weird scratching-plopping sound. i thought it was the tap pipe leaking, so i didnt bother about it much.
1 second after realising my hamster had escaped, i turned back to look below the tap. true enough; i saw this ball of grey fluff staring at me -.-""
super jialat hamster who doesnt even know how to escape. hahaha. XD
this hammy is abit shy and tame, so i think even if he escapes, he wont dare to venture far. even when i take out his cage into the living room to let him see more stuff, he will go back and run on his wheel. then when i bring his cage back into the pantry area, he'll bite the cage as if he wants to come out and see the world. LOL.
finally the holidays have arrived. and finally i am blogging after weeks of mia. lol.
really fatiqued.. love the sleep and rest i will be able to have now that hols are here. XD
oh, school library will be closed for the hols. which means we cant borrow books we need for gbe project. i wonder if the main library is open thou. and heard that the new library will be open once school reopens! how cool is that. :)
i cant believe that ive fallen in love with a normal 14" screen again that im willing to carry the fujitsu to school almost everyday. *with cd drive and battery taken out thou* haha.

well im surprised im here to blog. havent got any inspiration to blog since dunno when.
students chase cca points in poly. i overheard some year 2s talking abt cca points and it's like they dont know that cca points are not counted in uni anymore. we hv many members who only care about getting cca points in the club, and you can just see that they wont be committed and stay after they get all the points they want. for uni applications, the uni sees what you did in the club, not the number of points you get. unless you're going for private, then maybe. from what ive heard.
previously i did care about cca points too. year 1 i think. so i guess i can understand how they feel. but now i dont even care. i even have lesser points than many of my members. XD
i guess our sub com doesnt know that we choose mcs when we see that they do things not for points, but for passion. there are few people that have that correct mentality, but im glad at least we do have some who do.
all these things are so meaningless.
wow havent blogged for so long. everyday is a sleepy day.. 8am lessons means waking up at 6.30am for 3 days a week. no brain juice anymore. lol.

cant wait to graduate. and i dont intend to go uni.
another week gone by again. and ITP is over. somehow, im happy that it's over, but i dread going back to school. the projects, everything.
im really swamped. havent even started school, and i already have 4 website projects to follow-up with. im really quite a dead duck... somehow i dont feel like touching it anymore. as i encounter more and more smes, their demands increase with each sme as well. so tired of dealing with all their demands...
anyhow, im in two companies now, and im really super happy and grateful that my other company is gg to let me use their company laptop. fujitsu with 2.4ghz. ive been using poor kohji to run cs3 and it keeps crashing.. lol.
i will be doing freelance support service for their webhosting services, as well as joomla and wordpress sites, so im really appreciative of it.. =D

hm quite alot has happened this week, about employment and stuffs. graduates are wishing that they dont graduate this year cos of recession and cant find jobs.. but... let's just put it this way.. how i wish i was graduating this year!! ah well.
well ive been sleeping at 10-11 everyday since i need to wake up at 7.30am everyday for work.. so not much time in the week to blog. haha.
today me and jh went to the new shopping centre at bugis... we tried the machine-kiaping thingy for the ben and j's ice cream. but didnt manage to get it. T.T haha oh well. quite a few of the shops are not open yet.

the weekend has come again.
just read the saturday papers. this sat's feature is about cancer and some life stories about people who have gotten cancer. some of them are as young as 39! do we even realise that cancer has become rampant only in the current generation?
previously before our generation, no one really got cancer. and based on what my dad says, alot of it is due to what we put into our bodies, esp plastic, preservatives and such? im trying not to eat hot food from plastic containers nowadays. the heat will sorta melt the plastic into the food and you'll be eating plastic.
anw some stuff i found online on cancer:
1. One of the most powerful cancer-promoting food ingredients of all is called sodium nitrate. This is an ingredient that is added to virtually all packaged meat products including hot dogs, pepperoni, ham, lunchmeat and other similar products. You'll also find it in bacon, sausages and most breakfast meats.
2. There are other ingredients that are suspected of causing cancer. These include hydrogenated oils, aspartame, saccharin and artificial colors, to name a few.
3. A diet that is very high in refined carbohydrates has also been clinically shown to increase your odds of being diagnosed with cancer, eg white bread, sweetened breakfast cereals, white fluffy pancakes, candy bars, granola bars, cookies, crackers and sweets of all kinds.
4. Physical exercise. Moving your body helps you prevent cancer. Part of the reason is that body movement moves lymph fluid around, and this is an important function of your immune system that fights cancerous cells. If you refrain from all body movement, you will hamper your body's ability to fight off cancer.
so please people.. take care of your bodies! cut down on artificial foods and bad ingredients and go out and exercise! :)
our first anniversary. :) we went ahead with it after all, haha. i guess the feeling is kinda different from celebrating it in advance... there are the certain feelings associated with the day itself.

today i had a complimentary hair cut from kim robinsons under the sp staff and student promo. fortunately tmr is the last day of the promo and i managed to get an appointment.. previously they were fully booked from the start of it.
anw the one i went to is at millenia walk. i managed to find it without my dear's help because he was very late.. haha. the ambience is nice. contrary to popular belief, even thou it was 'complimentary', they didnt let any trainee cut my hair. it was a trained stylist. and he looked like jay chou! hahah. before he started on my hair, he blew his hair using the hairdryer for a whie and styled his hair first. hahaha. when i smsed dear that my stylist look like jay chou, (my fav singer) he went: 'jay chou very ugly. his singing is good but he is ugly.' -.-"" hahahaa. someone jealous XD.
im letting my hair grow longer, since he layered it for me and it feels much lighter now, i wont feel so irritated by 'alot of hair' if i let it grow. haha.
then went to buy his water bottle and buy headphone from jaben, but jaben didnt hv the color he wanted in stock, so i think we'll be coming back next time.
happy 1 year anniversary to us! :) celebrated in advance cos of itp. haha.
boy came over today after work for a dinner of stingray and lots more. then watched slumdog millionaire from dvd.
it's an awesome show. i learnt alot from it. :)

ahhh the google talk was just awesome!! the head of google in singapore came to give us a talk on how google can help smes. he covered adwords, website optimiser and some others. and he can really talk! the way he says things; it's straight to the point and clear. also, his real life case studies are so interesting!
oh; he also gave each sme a $50 adwords coupon to use for their adwords advertising campaign!! how cool is that!! i got one for my mum for her real estate business also. :D all the smes there were listening so intently.. i think it's like the most interesting workshop ive went to in my company so far. XD
anw, we had the talk at security lab. FINALLY I have the chance to enter the lab and see what it looks like!! haha. XD what ah boy said was all true! from the inside, you can see the outside so clearly; as if it's glass. haha. but from the outside, previously all i could see was BLACK glass! couldnt see in at all! then.. all the times i met boy outside the lab, ppl could see us.. *cough cough*
and.... dennis wong came also. he's such a cute ol' dude. hahahhaha. XD
it's events like these which make itp-ing here all worthwhile! XD
oh, the speaker was super funny! when my supervisor asked him for his facebook account so that we can add him into our facebook group, he was like: "actually you can google my name. my facebook profile appears at the top of the search list." OWNED!! hahhaha.

today at work, the wireless mighty mouse went a lil too close to the edge of the table and dropped to the floor. and guess what. IT WENT DEAD. just one small fall!! any normal mouse would have survived it. but sheesh.
mighty mac mouse aint so mighty after all eh. and it costs abt 70 bux.
remember the video and hype about an iphone being able to withstand a truck running over it? im seriously beginning to feel that it was part of apple's way of creating hype and dispel the rumours that apple's products cannot withstand shocks.
my supervisor also told me that iphones are also susceptible to spoiling when dropping, and that many of the people at the apple service centres go there to repair their phone cos of battery/whatever part spoiling just after dropping.

since results came out yet again, i have been facing the same concerns from my friends over again.. how are you going to go uni, maybe you shouldnt have chosen DBA since yr interest is in IT, change diploma course, etc. even my supervisor told me he wonders why i went to dba.
and then hearing jh's stories abt his course abt nus, hitb, d*o, sysscan etc, sometimes im just left thinking... what if i had chosen his course in the first place.. maybe then i wont be in this hole now.
but then if i had gone to his course, maybe things would be different for him. maybe i would have dragged him down, since his situations are already perfect.
it's like watching a cartoon whereby some guy turns back time and makes a different decision from the first one, thinking that things would turn out better. but in the end, it is not so, cos different problems then occur.
but there's rli nothing for me to do now except hope that i go thru my last year in one piece and not repeat module.
i finally managed to answer my secret google qn which was keeping me from accessing my google account. the lessons i learnt from this is:
finally it's friday, so the boy and me went to suntec to check out the stuff at IT show. it was SO SUPER CROWDED, we were wondering where is recession. lol. anw, one super good deal we saw was a sony 40" tv which is selling at 1799. and guess what. freebies are: play station 3, psp, home theatre system, and free delivery and installation. jh was like: if i had the money i sure go and buy alr. haha. the freebies are really crazy. u can sell those freebies and get back the cost of yr 40" tv. haha.
anw, i was hving kind of a bad day, so he treated me to candy floss. and you wouldnt believe how big it is. it ooks like a big cloud. haha. and it's only $1.50.. we were quite surprised why suntec would sell it rather cheaply, since outside sells 1/5 of that size at $1. lol. everywhere we walked, people were looking at us. hahaha. and one guy got so stunned he actually shouted 'WHOA' as we walked by him. wahahha.

these few days have been so tired after work. i reach home at abt 7.30 and after eating and everything, i use the com for about 1 hour till 11, then go to sleep. have been sleeping around 11pm everyday already. it's almost as if work is the only life i have during the weekdays, cos once i get back i kun alr. lol.
slept 12 hours today... what a luxury.. haha. :)
finally excellence award is over!! went pretty well. and the budget on the food was cut down by alot.. not as good as last year.. considering that sp is recession-proof, im wondering why the food budget got cut down. boohoo.
anw, i banged my head at my office today. freaking pain!! my office ppl will know why. they have random pillars all over the place as a design. sooner or later sure will hit a pillar somewhere de. haha.

i sort of think that studying is less tiring as compared to working.. firstly, not everyday we need to reach school at 9. whereas everyday we need to reach work at 9am. im really lacking in sleep.. and yet still need to urge myself to do websites. i need to exercise so that i dont become so lethargic so that i dont need so much sleep. but where's the motivation.. haha. i think im gg to the gym with my colleague during lunch break! XD

my goodness, im seriously crazily busy. excellence award is on wednesday, and we have a whole load of things to do to prepare for it. every other day i spend half my lunch hour meeting my club officer. lol.

ahhh finally can have a good sleep.. on wednesday i had cramps, but so coincidentally, the company was having an internal event, so there was no work. :) i went back on thursday when i still had some cramps, but was totally drained out and sleepy cos the night before i hadnt slept a wink, thanks to cramps. so this week was quite a draining one for me..
oh yesterday i had quite an interesting day. boss brought me to kinder*and to check out their IT systems and how we can help to improve them. after that, we went marine parade shopping centre for lunch and buy some snacks for the office. quite a fun day. :)
this week has been mostly doing websites... im looking forward to next week and hope that we can set up the server and webhosting so that i can check out some CRM software for SME's CRM. can u believe that sp has their own server? they pay like 1k a month for it and its not being used now. my goodness.

all i can say is that, im really enjoying myself at itp. im itp-ing in school for a company which i worked for freelance. job scope consists of webdesign, graphic design, events and workshop coordination, newsletters, etc. all IT based, just my thing. haha.
tomorrow i have a day off becos sp is having some internal corporate event. woots. :)
but anw, im seriously grateful that i can itp in sp. because holidays are extremely important to plan club activities during the period, hence it is invaluable that i am able to meet my officer during lunch break. just very grateful that i have that flexibility, becos jh is having itp also. and especially when there are certain things you just cannot 'outsource' to your mcs to do, because of its importance.
anw, my workstation at itp is my FANTASY workstation. the imac has freaking 24" glossy widescreen liquid crystal display, as well as all software i can ever dream of. iwork, ilife, ms office for mac and full the adobe mac suite. i positively get shivers of high each time i even use the mac mouse. LOL. ok i shall stop here before i continue sounding like a total geek/idiot/mac fan.
oh guess what. they just brought in 2 more super computers for game design. they're over 10k. lol. quad core with hyperthreading, so effective each of them are oct core. (or eight cores)
i love the people working there too. there are only 2 perm staff and 2 itp guys, so it's a pretty cosy environment. not to mention that go*gle and ib* is coming in march, so i will be involved in the organising. oh, can you believe that you stand a chance to win a wii during one of their lucky draws just by attending their workshop?? hahaha. XD and goody bags and good food, haha.

anw, hv successfully installed office 07 in wine. after quite some time of figuring out why my powerpoint keeps crashing upon start up, etc. also had to upgrade wine to the latest version in order that it could be installed. sometimes things are not as straightfoward as i thought they would be.
unfortunately i still have to forgo windows live msger, live writer, and cs3, all which i need for my website creations. the ratings for those in wine are not good, hence i'll just spare myself of the trouble installing them.
for the second time in two days, i reformatted my laptop. that's cos i thought the trojan will only stay on c drive, also cos fahmi who works at service centre told me that sp students get it on c drive only. it's not his fault; i had also thought it would stay on C only. but anw, the trojan jumped to D drive and back to c drive again. LOL. installed xp again on c drive, and ubuntu on E drive, which i created. D is for my docs.
I am now an official linux convert.
seriously this trojan caused me ALOT of time and effort. heng i backup-ed my documents into an external hdd, (which i suspect has the trojan also), but i will only use it on ubuntu. and i have successfully saved my precious notes from the hdd. cos the trojan encrypted all my previous D drive files, which i had thought it would not touch. so super pissed at the trojan creator. this is the most destructive i have ever come across. AND guess what, i had scanned my D and hdd drives with avg, (after a lecture by the boy on the importance of antivirus) and AVG DID NOT DETECT IT.
if open source image editing software was as on par with those which run on ms, i dont think i'll ever touch ms' crap again. and unfortunately ms office has more features as compared to open office, which we really need for presentations and reports.
i already love ubuntu because i didnt have to load drivers and it could project to my screen, connect to internet and detect my mouse. unlike ms which has to 'install your new device' crap.
ok i shall now go and revel in my new found love for linux.
btw, for business students, try not to plug in your thumbdrives into the school computers and then transfer them into yr laptops, thou it's kinda hard to prevent. the school comps are laden with viruses and trojans.
i think i'm the worst owner a laptop could ever have. in the past year alone i have reformatted my laptop about 4 times. lolx. each time i resolve to using antivirus, but it never stays for long. lol. eg comodo. it's paranoid and keeps notifying me of every single change that's being made to my comp, that i totally turn it off. and avg updates so regulary that i get sian-ed. lolx.
somehow i like the feel of a reformatted laptop. hahaha. cos i install alot of junk everytime.. lolx. i think it's a psychological thing to feel like your laptop is freshly installed and there's no more junk in there. one reformat is all it takes to clear every bit of virus, trojan or whatever not that may be lurking inside that your antivirus cannot find. lolx.
another thing i must stop doing is transferring my sd cards and thumbdrives from laptops and school computers to my comp. thou during project time it's very hard leh.. =/
anw i just reformatted my laptop, again. haha. it kena some ransomware thing. it's super smart la, this virus. it dives into my harddisk and encryps my precious documents. good thing it didnt manage to touch my d drive yet so i could backup my stuff. anw, it encrypts my docs and tells me to buy a decryptor from them, otherwise my info will be at risk.
i think i got it from an sd card transfer. horrible la.. affected my c drive summore leh. gave up scanning and just reformatted. haha.

totally polluted my dropbox. can you image the damage it would cause if the virus sync-ed itself over dropbox with the people i share it with?? LOL. need to delete the polluted folders off le.

nina's bf cannot book out tonight cos he suddenly called and has guard duty... aiyo im really sad for nina.. wait for him for the week and in the end cannot book out.. i think i will just feel like screaming at ns.. lol.. sometimes i cannot even tahan not seeing boy after 1 day le; i think when he goes into ns i will feel really horrible... guess i'll hv to find a weekend job to occupy myself then.. haha..
tmr meeting the girls to study for fm.. our usual amk macs. need to study with them otherwise at home sure no motivation de. haha.

today went for pscm for 1 hour cos our teacher needed to go for duty at toa payoh sec. so poor thing; tutor still need to go for duty. i thought only students kena. lol.
then the four of us went jp to spend our 4 hours before intending to return for lectures. but i met alex my crescent sec sch friend and caught up with her over lunch and decided to pon fm and hr. lol. many of my classmates want to go overseas and study wor.. i thought students usually want to stay in singapore to study. lol.
im here on a thursday at an unearthly hour of 8am for gems. and all she wanted to do today is go through our goals and feedback on them. next wk have one more gems lesson and on 29th got one presentation and that's it for the year. XD slack gems ftw! XD

today went double dating with andy and his gf to marina barrage. it’s quite an interesting place.. other than the barrage itself, there is an open space for people to relax. also there is a room called the ‘sustainable'-something’ room whereby stuff about sustainable energy in singapore is used.
OH. WE SAW MM LEE ON THE BARRAGE. haha. he was with a few other ppl and police were accompanying him. he WAVED to andy, but andy blur blur never see. so andy never wave back. LOL to the max. and we were kinda nervous and didnt know how to react, lol haha.
open space on the barrage. people fly kite there. haha. it's VERY VERY windy.

there's a booth whereby you can take picture and send it to your friends as an ecard. very innovative.
