Wan Chai
Finally went to eat WAN CHAI with jh after reading so much about it from rs’ blog, haha. Here’s our review for the stuffs we ate.
'hm what should i eat'. haha.
Mine: Prawn Dumpling Wonton. Ok only. Not spectacular. $5
Jh’s root beer float. Half the thing is ice. Nowhere as nice as A&W’s root beer float, according to jh.$3
Wan Chai’s Speciality Fried Rice. Ok only leh. Not spectacular also. haha.$6.80.
This is how the bishan branch looks like. Arrangement of tables and chairs is not very good. Quite messy. And beside me, the waitresses kept walking about with food. Got abit scared that sooner or later some accident will happen lol.
I find their payment system quite weird. Usually you would eat first then pay for your food, or your food will come first then you pay on the spot. Here, you have to tick the items you want, then take the big big piece of paper to the cashier and pay first before the food arrives. We just find it unsystematic and confusing. Not forgetting to mention that customers feel weird having to pay for your food first before it arrives. Almost everywhere else it’s the opposite way. Oh well. Just minor peeves.
Overall: Not very satisfied with the food or the way they operate. The only good thing about them is that the food arrives very fast. Like, within 5-10 mins for everything. haha. Doubt we’ll go back again, unless rs tells us about some dish which is very very good and die die must try. Haha.
